Have you ever wondered how to reduce your production costs? In 1992, Normand Ballard, a specialist in industrial automation and robotics was asked that question. After a year of thought and with the combined efforts of Sylvain Ballard, a programmer-analyst, a solution came to light: AutoFAB software.

Building on their respective qualifications and years of experience in the industry, the two brothers designed  business software solutions aimed at improving productivity, reducing shipping delays, responding rapidly to demand, and ultimately, offering  superior quality products.

In Granby in June of 1993, Normand Ballard founded NB Automation inc. (NBA), and launched AutoFAB. More than just a software distributor, NBA wanted to offer its clients consultation services aimed at fully evaluating their needs, as well as training courses to enable them to get the most out of the software. NBA offered turnkey solutions, ranging from consulting to user training, as well as automation software development. The Bromont-based business is actively involved in each step of the implementation process.

From small family business, NBA rapidly became an industry leader. Management and staff share a common and single goal: to meet the requirements of a diversified clientele by offering custom designed software aimed at facilitating all crucial, and often costly, stages of production.

A few years after it was founded, driven by the same care for excellence, NBA innovated again when it launched the ChronoTEX and ChronoMEDIC systems, in 1998 and 2001, respectively. The ChronoTEX system was intended for the management of specialized linens used in operating rooms. The ChronoMEDIC system was designed to manage production and inventory, to track and to ensure quality control of instruments used in operating rooms; it also enables management of sterilizers and equipment lending. User-friendly, multilingual and developed according to the clients’ needs, ChronoTEX and ChronoMEDIC offer users a host of possibilities, while facilitating their work.

Version 6 of the AutoFAB system, available since June 2009, is even more powerful and offers additional benefits and flexibility. It is certainly the best solution for all manufacturers. Continuously evolving, the ChronoMEDIC system is still the best tracking and management tool for hospital managers.
